जब देश की Internal Security, Border Protection और Law & Order की बात आती है तो सबसे पहला नाम Indian Army का दिमाग में आता है। लेकिन सच यह है कि Para Military Forces in India 10 Armed Organisations का एक Group है जो Indian Military को Support करने और Internal Security सुनिश्चित करने के लिए जिम्मेदार है।
2011 से पहले इन्हें “Paramilitary Forces” कहा जाता था लेकिन अब Official Term “Central Armed Police Forces” यानी CAPF है। CRPF India का सबसे बड़ा Paramilitary Force है जिसमें 239 Battalions हैं और Total Authorised Manpower 313,678 है। इस Article में समझिए कि India में कौन-कौन से Paramilitary Forces हैं, उनकी Roles क्या हैं और कैसे Join कर सकते हैं।
Paramilitary Forces क्या होते हैं?
Paramilitary Force एक Semi-militarized Force है जिसकी Organizational Structure, Tactics, Training, Subculture और Functions Professional Military जैसे होते हैं लेकिन यह State की Formal Armed Forces का हिस्सा नहीं होती।
Paramilitary Forces Military Forces नहीं होते लेकिन ये Military की Special Operations Units जैसे Organizational Structure और Training में होते हैं।
Paramilitary Forces Law और Order बनाए रखने में मदद करते हैं ताकि Internal Peace बनी रहे और External Aggression के मामले में Defence Forces की तरह भी काम करते हैं।

Defence Forces और Paramilitary Forces में क्या Difference है
Defence Forces यानी Indian Armed Forces देश की Security के लिए Primary Force हैं और ये Ministry of Defence के अंतर्गत आते हैं।
Central Armed Police Force यानी CAPF External Threats से लड़ने में मदद करते हैं लेकिन मुख्य रूप से Internal Security Issues Manage करते हैं और ये Ministry of Home Affairs के अंतर्गत आते हैं।
सीधी भाषा में Army, Navy, Air Force बाहरी दुश्मनों से लड़ते हैं जबकि Paramilitary Forces देश के अंदर Insurgency, Terrorism, Border Violations और Law & Order संभालते हैं।

India के 7 Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) की Complete List
CAPF को तीन Groups में बांटा गया है Border Guarding Forces जिसमें Assam Rifles, Border Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police और Sashastra Seema Bal हैं।
Forces for Internal Security जिसमें Central Industrial Security Force और Central Reserve Police Force हैं। और Special Task Force जिसमें National Security Guard है।
1. Assam Rifles
Assam Rifles की स्थापना British Administration में 1835 में हुई थी। यह सबसे पुराना Para Military Forces in India है।
पहले इसे Cachar Levy कहा जाता था और Assam Region में Develop किया गया था ताकि Northeastern States के साथ India की International Borders Monitor की जा सकें। Headquarters Shillong में है।
यह Force Northeast India में Crucial Role Play करता है, Counterinsurgency और Border Security Operations Handle करता है। इसे “Friends of the Hill People”, “Friends of the North East People” और “Sentinels of the North East” कहा जाता है।
Assam Rifles 1,643 km Long Indo-Myanmar Border Guard करता है। यह एकमात्र Para Military Forces in India है जिसका Dual-control Structure है।
Administrative Control MHA के पास है लेकिन Operational Control Ministry of Defence यानी Indian Army के पास है। इसे Lieutenant General Rank का Army Officer Lead करता है।
2. Border Security Force (BSF)
BSF को Border Guard of the Country कहा जाता है और इसे ‘India’s First Line of Defence’ भी कहते हैं। यह Union Government Agency 1965 Indo-Pakistan War के बाद 1 December 1965 को बनाई गई। यह India की Borders की Security सुनिश्चित करती है और IPS Officer इसे Head करता है।
BSF की Primary Role Indo-Pakistan और Indo-Bangladesh Borders Guard करना है। यह International Border और LOC दोनों पर Deploy है।
War के समय BSF की Active Role भी होती है। इसमें 292,000 Personnel हैं जो 192 Battalions में बंटे हैं। यह दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा Dedicated Border Guarding Force है।
3. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
CRPF India का सबसे बड़ा Paramilitary Organisation है जो Internal Security, Counter-insurgency Operations और State Police Forces को Law और Order बनाए रखने में मदद करता है।
CRPF Election Security भी Provide करता है और Natural Disasters में Response देता है। CRPF एक Special Operation Unit Maintain करता है जिसे Commando Battalion for Resolute Action यानी COBRA कहते हैं जो Maoist Insurgents से लड़ने के लिए बनाया गया है।
4. Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
ITBP की स्थापना 24 October 1962 को 1962 Sino-Indian Conflict के बाद हुई। इसे CRPF Act के तहत बनाया गया। यह Indo-Tibetan Border और India-China Border के Mountainous Regions Guard करता है और Northern Borders Monitor करता है।
ITBP ने 2004 में Sikkim और Arunachal Pradesh में Assam Rifles की जगह ले ली। यह Karakoram Pass (Jammu & Kashmir) से लेकर Jechap La (Arunachal Pradesh) तक India-China Border Guard करता है।
इसका काम Border Violations Detect और Prevent करना, Illegal Immigration और Trans-border Smuggling पर Check रखना है।
5. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
SSB Indo-Nepal और Indo-Bhutan Borders Guard करता है। यह Force Border Security के साथ-साथ Anti-smuggling और Anti-trafficking Operations भी Conduct करता है। SSB को पहले Special Service Bureau कहा जाता था।
6. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
CISF दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी Industrial Security Forces में से एक है जो विभिन्न Public Sector Undertakings यानी PSUs और दूसरे Critical Infrastructure Installations को Security Provide करती है।
यह देश भर के Major Airports को Security देती है और Elections के दौरान Security और दूसरे Internal Security Duties और VVIP Protection भी करती है।
7. National Security Guard (NSG)
NSG एक Specialized Commando Unit है जो High-stakes Operations के लिए काम करता है। यह Prime Minister of India, Former Prime Ministers और उनके Close Family Members को Immediate Security Provide करने के लिए Union का Armed Force है।
SPG Cabinet Secretariat के अंतर्गत आता है और Special Protection Group Act, 1988 के तहत काम करता है।
NSG को Counter-terrorism Operations और Hostage Rescue Missions के लिए Deploy किया जाता है। 26/11 Mumbai Attacks में NSG की Bravery पूरी दुनिया ने देखी थी।
3 और Important Paramilitary/Special Forces
इन 7 CAPF के अलावा तीन और Important Forces हैं जो अलग Ministries के तहत काम करते हैं:
Indian Coast Guard: यह Ministry of Defence के अंतर्गत आता है और Maritime Security, Search and Rescue Operations और Anti-smuggling Activities Handle करता है।
Special Protection Group (SPG): यह सिर्फ Prime Minister और Former PMs की High-level Security के लिए है।
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF): NDRF को Disaster Management Act, 2005 के तहत बनाया गया। यह Natural और Man-made Disasters में Specialist Response के लिए है। इसमें 12 Battalions हैं जो विभिन्न CAPFs से Deputation पर आए लोगों से बनी हैं।
Para Military Forces in India में कैसे Join करें
Para Military Forces in India में Join करने के तीन Main Routes हैं UPSC CAPF Assistant Commandant Exam जो Gazette Officer बनने का एकमात्र Exam है, SSC CPO SI Exam जो Subordinate Officers की Recruitment के लिए है, और SSC Constable GD Exam जो Constable Level Recruitment के लिए है।
Age Limit Recruitment Mode के हिसाब से अलग होती है लेकिन Generally 18 से 25 साल है।
- UPSC CAPF AC Exam यह Assistant Commandant बनने के लिए है। 600 Marks का Exam होता है और Physical और Medical Test भी होते हैं।
- SSC CPO SI Exam Sub-Inspector Level पर Recruitment होती है।
- SSC GD Constable Exam 12th Pass Candidates के लिए Constable Level Recruitment।
इसके अलावा BSF, CRPF, SSB, CISF जैसे Organizations अपने Independent Exams भी Conduct करते हैं 12th Passed Candidates के लिए।
Salary और Benefits कितना मिलता है?
Paramilitary Candidates की Annual Salary ₹1.8 lakh से ₹4.5 lakh तक होती है Rank के हिसाब से। इसके साथ Medical Benefits, Free Rations और Paid Leave भी मिलता है।
क्या Females भी Join कर सकती हैं
हां, Females भी Paramilitary Forces of India Join करने के लिए Eligible हैं। हाल के सालों में सभी CAPFs में Women Recruitment बढ़ी है और कई Leadership Positions पर Women Officers हैं।
Paramilitary Forces की Roles और Responsibilities
